The Center for Reflective Practice at GCU fosters practical problem-solving in research, scholarship, and professional industries through the Boyer Model of Scholarship and John Dewey’s reflective practice, promoting critical, experiential learning for students, faculty, and professionals.

  • The Impact Dissertation Initiative: Hosted by the College of Doctoral Studies, this initiative helps doctoral candidates design impactful, practice-focused dissertations that address key problems and offer actionable solutions to their fields.
  • The Canyon Emerging Scholars Program: This program mentors undergraduate researchers in using reflective practice and offers opportunities to publish in the Canyon Journal of Undergraduate Research, highlighting their work and problem-solving skills.
  • Faculty Practice Scholarship: The center helps GCU faculty document and publish problems of practice, integrating reflective practice to create impactful research and solutions for academia and industry.
