Our Students and Their Work
Students must complete a senior portfolio as part of the Colloquium in Rhetoric and Writing course, a required class that is offered each semester.
Students who are getting a bachelor’s degree, a minor, or a graduate degree in professional and technical writing are encouraged to get internships to supplement their coursework. Learn more about workplace internship opportunities.

Inside the Feral Cat Epidemic
A single feral cat, left to their own devices, can kill over 1,000 small animals a year. They are deemed responsible for the extinction of at least 33 bird species globally. Serving Like Him
What do you get when you cross the patience of a saint with a personality of an entertainer? A hospitality worker. GCU’s Hospitality Management Club members are dedicated to serving others and putting their skills to the test.

Journalism Features
The Professional Writing program offers several journalism classes. Each course provides a foundation for the next, building up to multimedia work in students’ fourth year. These are feature stories from several of the classes. They range from short feature stories to longer news essays.
