Review Process
All submissions are evaluated by a double-anonymous peer-review process. Prior to dissemination to the reviewers, the Editor will conduct a preliminary appraisal for content, substance, and appropriateness to the journal. If the manuscript is clearly inappropriate, the author will be informed and the manuscript returned. Appropriate manuscripts will be sent to two reviewers for an anonymous evaluation. Although there is an attempt to match manuscripts and reviewers according to content, interests, and topical relevance, the broad focus of the journal dictates that papers be written for applicability to a wide audience.
Review Outcomes
Utilizing feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make a final publication decision. The review process will take approximately six weeks. Decisions categories include:
Identifying Information
To facilitate the masked portion of the manuscript review process, the author’s name and other identifying information should NOT appear anywhere on the manuscript (including the title page); the manuscript should be written in a generalized fashion that does not directly divulge authorship or institutional affiliation.
Correspondence
All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of JSE. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the lead author; the lead author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. Beyond communication concerning the review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to complete copyediting and typesetting.
